Faith Is…
Every Sat/Sun 8 AM ET
We believe God wants us to understand the Bible. So we’ll approach the Bible with eager anticipation, confident that God will show us the truth. Then, he’ll show us how to live in these sometimes confusing and discouraging times. Join us as we make the complicated simple, cooperate with grace, and stretch toward God’s high calling.
Every week we’ll take a fresh look at the Bible and discover that Faith Is . . . absolute confidence in the trustworthiness of God.
Born a Buckeye in southwestern Ohio, Pastor Rick Stevens has served churches from Oklahoma to New Brunswick, Canada. He has been a pastor, youth pastor, and church music director. Since January of 1997, he has been the pastor of Diplomat Wesleyan Church in Cape Coral, FL. He is married to Jan and has two children and four grandchildren. His most unusual travel experience was visiting the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station in Ukraine; the site of the world’s worst nuclear power accident.
FAITH IS… with Pastor Rick Stevens – Does God really expect us to open our borders and our homes to anybody and everybody that shows up? Is there such a thing as luck? Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead; what then? Are the spirit and soul two separate entities? We’ll talk about all this and more as we challenge each other to have faith…
FAITH IS… with Pastor Rick Stevens – The people who heard the word of the Lord from Amos were in for some very hard times. The people who hear God’s message today have hope for tomorrow because we can turn to God and trust Him! We can have faith, and absolute confidence in the trustworthiness of God…
FAITH IS… with Pastor Rick Stevens – Too many people, especially God’s people, give up in frustration and refuse to help solve the problems. This is especially true when people think their only choice in an election is to vote for the lesser of two evils. There is a better way; a fresh perspective…
FAITH IS… with Pastor Rick Stevens – In sports, there are tie breakers or, like baseball, the game continues until one team wins. It’s not so easy in life. What happens when two Christian values compete and we have to choose? Mary and Martha disagreed, and Martha wanted Jesus to decide the issue. Instead, Jesus helped all of us make the…
FAITH IS… with Pastor Rick Stevens – What kind of person are you? What kind of person do you want to be? Today we learn the answer to those questions. A man challenged Jesus and learned a life-changing lesson about himself. We’re about to learn that same lesson, and it has eternal consequences. What must I do to inherit eternal life?
FAITH IS… with Pastor Rick Stevens – At some time in our lives, most of us will come face to face with a problem we cannot solve. It won’t matter how much power we have or how much money we can throw at the problem. We will discover that we are powerless. When you get to that place, remember God is powerful…
FAITH IS… with Pastor Rick Stevens – The story of Elisha becoming Elijah’s successor answers that question. Elisha inherited the responsibility and opportunity to continue Elijah’s prophetic work. Can we dare to be an Elisha? We can. And we must!
FAITH IS… with Pastor Rick Stevens – Are you part of the problem or the solution? Do you spend your time and energy complaining about how bad things have gotten, or do you step up as a problem solver? If you’re tired of complainers and if you’re ready to step up and step out, the story of Elijah is for you…
It’s the most consequential rhetorical question of all time: what is truth? And when Pilate asked it, he had the answer standing right in front of him! Jesus said to him, “the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth!” We ask Pilate’s questions too. What can I believe in? Who can I trust? Where can I find the truth?
From God’s perspective, Pentecost was a day of blessing and power and understanding. We want to add more light than heat to an already overheated subject. Join us as we relive the story of Pentecost and discover God’s good gift given for a very specific purpose…
An instant sermon is real questions from real people and honest answers from God. So get ready! God does not hold back and we won’t either. Plus we’ll remind ourselves of Ascension Sunday and remember the sacrifice of the men and women who gave their lives to preserve our liberty…
John gives us a vision of what God has planned for His people. It’s a world without the influence of evil. It’s a world where the nations will find healing and people will live in harmony in the presence of God. It’s the place God is preparing for you…
Do you anticipate the return of Jesus with anxious dread or hopeful anticipation? The Bible reminds us to look for our redemption because it’s near! Jesus teaches us that we should not be afraid. We should be ready. God is moving into our neighborhood! He’ll be the best neighbor ever…
We need to remember the spiritual resources God provides. In our quest for the next “thing,” we sometimes overlook the tried and true, unchanged and consistently helpful; that’s Psalm 23. Psalm 23 tells us about the Good Shepherd. He will restore your soul, and you’re invited to dwell in the Lord’s house…
