The Constitution Study
Weekdays 4 PM ET
The American people, through ignorance and apathy, have lost their love for their rights and liberties. Our rights are trampled daily by governments, universities, the media, and businesses both large and small. Yet the vast majority of Americans not only bow to the pressure to relinquish their rights, they frequently ask for them to be taken. What are we to do?
Since 2014 Paul Engel has been helping everyday Americans read and study the Constitution of their country and teaching the rising generation to be free. In this program, Paul uses news and current events as a springboard to help explain the Constitution and encourage others to stand up for their rights, their children’s rights, and those of the nation.
The goal of this program is to help everyday people defend their rights by reading, studying, and understanding the supreme law of the land, the Constitution of the United States of America. Author and speaker, Paul Engel has spent more than 20 years studying and teaching about both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. That experience helps Paul explain difficult concepts in a way most people can understand. As one manager described, “Paul can take the most complex idea and explain it in a way my grandmother can understand.”
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – As humans, we all make mistakes, but do we learn from them? With new evidence on election malfeasance surfacing, it’s time to choose. Will we let a few with agendas trample our rights? As politicians push their own ambitions, remember, repeating past errors without change is insanity. What will you do differently this time?
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Impeachment becomes a farce, stripping its power to curb government malfeasance. As we witness the erosion of Fourth Amendment rights with bills like HB 7888 passing with bipartisan support, the question arises: Will Americans defend their rights before they’re relegated to history’s trash bin? The integrity of our constitutional processes hangs in the balance.
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – How the court decides this case may have a tremendous impact on all outstanding Jan. 6th cases. We’ve all heard the saying that the punishment should fit the crime. But what happens when someone, in order to get the punishment they want, accuses others of crimes they didn’t actually commit? That is the question before the Supreme Court in the case Fischer v. United States.
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – As the Biden Administration prioritizes national security over the Constitution, I explore a controversial memo and HR 7888’s renewal of Section 702 of FISA. Delving into the debate, I seek to align with what our Founding Fathers might believe, recalling Benjamin Franklin’s timeless warning about sacrificing liberty for safety.
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Today, April 19, 2024, marks the 249th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, pivotal events in American history. Surprisingly, this date lacks any commemoration. As we reflect on the courage of ordinary people who stood up for their rights, let’s rekindle the spirit of freedom and consider what these battles mean for us today.
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – It’s easy to see that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) permeates our institutions, once again segregating and punishing people because of their race and other factors. We also see it in the crass assumptions that tools to help ensure the accuracy of our elections must be racist. There’s an old saying, “To a hammer, everything looks like a nail.”
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) is misused to spy on Americans, including political figures and protestors. As Congress debates renewing Section 702, concerns grow about continuing abuses of power and the erosion of civil liberties. Remember Benjamin Franklin’s warning about sacrificing liberty for security as we face another potential renewal of these invasive powers.
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Depending on what news outlets you pay attention to, you’ll hear claims of government corruption. Of course, these outlets and the people who trust their reporting will disagree about who in government is corrupt and what policies are corrupt, but we all pretty much agree that there is corruption. Unless we recognize our own biases and those of those we get our news from, we will forever be…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Labels are lazy. They are an easy way to dismiss someone or something without actually having to investigate it. Label someone a terrorist, and you can throw due process out the window. Label someone a racist, and you can simply ignore them. Label someone a threat to democracy, and you can do just about anything to keep them out of office…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – There are three types of lies in the world. Lies, Darn Lies, and Statistics. We should keep that in mind as we read and hear about the latest jobs report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. These numbers are not nearly as good as D.C. would like you to believe. Then again, they aren’t nearly as bad as their political opponents would want you to believe either…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – In “In Disinformation We Trust,” I explore the erosion of trust in media and political narratives. With repeated inaccuracies from “trusted sources,” I advocate for personal verification over blind faith. Highlighting controversies in military extremism and election security, I urge readers to question what is presented as truth and embrace validated disinformation over deceptive claims…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – The Pledge of Allegiance ends in the words, “With Liberty and Justice for all.” What happens when the laws and the legal system are not seeking justice? Then, we no longer have a “justice system”; what we have is “just a system.” Whether it’s using the legal system or the bureaucracy to punish political opponents or finding ways to have undue influence on elections or courts to unbalance the scales of justice…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – When the Founding Fathers established this union, they did not expect the citizens to be passive participants but active in its operation. Rather than expecting others to protect their rights, they wanted people to defend them for themselves. Our first Chief Justice of the United States, John Jay, told us how we could do that…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Exploring the essence of Federalism, I delve into how states, as equals, collaborate for the common good. Emphasizing the Constitution, I argue for a balance between state sovereignty and federal power. This reflection on states’ roles and our duty to understand constitutional rights highlights the path to restoring the vision the Framers had for a balanced federation.
