The Constitution Study
Weekdays 4 PM ET
The American people, through ignorance and apathy, have lost their love for their rights and liberties. Our rights are trampled daily by governments, universities, the media, and businesses both large and small. Yet the vast majority of Americans not only bow to the pressure to relinquish their rights, they frequently ask for them to be taken. What are we to do?
Since 2014 Paul Engel has been helping everyday Americans read and study the Constitution of their country and teaching the rising generation to be free. In this program, Paul uses news and current events as a springboard to help explain the Constitution and encourage others to stand up for their rights, their children’s rights, and those of the nation.
The goal of this program is to help everyday people defend their rights by reading, studying, and understanding the supreme law of the land, the Constitution of the United States of America. Author and speaker, Paul Engel has spent more than 20 years studying and teaching about both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. That experience helps Paul explain difficult concepts in a way most people can understand. As one manager described, “Paul can take the most complex idea and explain it in a way my grandmother can understand.”
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – With all the examples of freedom under attack, it’s nice to see a win every once and a while. I have talked briefly about the injunction against members of the Biden administration trying to censor information through social media. Recently, I’ve had the chance to delve deeper into the injunction, and what I found was pretty good. That’s not to say there aren’t plenty of examples…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Back in school, we learned about taxation without representation. If it was good enough for the colonies to declare independence, shouldn’t it be good enough for us to change those we hire to represent us? The problem with taxation without representation is we pay the bills but have no say in the laws that create them. This is why Article I, Section 1 of the Constitution vests all…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Do you ever wake up thinking the whole world has gone mad? I know things change over time, but really, how can you take a look at what’s going on and not think a significant portion of the population has gone crazy? You have supposedly intelligent people who can’t (or won’t) tell you what a woman is. You have parents fighting with teachers and school administrators about…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Just when you think things can’t get any worse is usually when they do. Maybe it’s because, when things are bad, we are looking so hard for any solution we don’t stop to think if it’s actually better or not. It seems the need to do something often leads to doing the wrong thing. Either that or we figure we’ll just keep doing the same thing over and over again, hoping against hope that…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – There are plenty of sayings that express a similar idea: Back to square one, Back to the drawing board, Back to basics, & Coming full circle. They all involve going back to the beginning of something, usually to find a solution or at least something better than your current one. When you’re dealing with a problem, going back to where you started, then examining the decisions you made…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – In 1960, the term “The Man” was a moniker for the anonymous person in some nebulous bureaucracy trying to control your life. For the rebels of those days, standing up to “The Man” was a badge of honor. Today, not only does it seem that standing up is the exception to the rule, but those who called for that stand are now the man and more than willing to crush those who…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – When we pledge allegiance to the flag, we end with the line, “With liberty and justice for all.” But do we have liberty and justice for all? I’m not talking about singular examples of injustices but at a systemic and societal level. When dealing with the U.S. Department of Justice, do we have equal protection of the law? When someone goes to court, is justice blind, or is she peaking to decide…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – What bothers you more, the amount of censorship or the lack of any meaningful response to it? For me, it’s the lack of response. I expect people who are drawn to power to do anything to protect it but to have the American people so comfortable with it that they just accept it really disturbs me. How many wars have we fought, and how many have bled a died to protect our rights to…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – I read an interesting article in the Epoch Times. It was an analysis of how the federal government keeps growing, which got me thinking, not just about how the government keeps growing but why and what we can do to stop it. This whole thing reminds me of a Schoolhouse Rock song about the ever-growing debt. But it’s not just the debt, but the spending, the regulations…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Have you heard the saying, “Be kind to your children; they will choose your nursing home”? It’s one of many idioms designed to show that the generation we are raising will one day take over from us, which means that training the next generation is one of the most important jobs someone can have. So who has been raising the latest generations? A little observation leads me to…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – For decades I’ve watched as our so-called judicial system has trampled the rights of the American citizen. However, there have been rays of hope for the last couple of years. Last year at the Supreme Court, it was the Dobbs and Boston flag decisions. This year we have the Harvard, 303 Creative, and USPS decisions. Let’s not forget the federal judge told Biden to stop illegally forgiving…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Most of us are aware of the Hans Christian Anderson story entitled “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” In that story, the emperor is conned into paying an exorbitant sum for clothes that do not exist. Even the people go along with the con, that is, until a child points to the emperor and declares, “He’s naked!” What most people in America do not know is just how naked the power of the…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – First, the was the January 6th Committee, then the Government Weaponization Committee. Now there are calls for a new “Church Committee.” All of these with the alleged goal of government oversight to clean up Washington, D.C. This has been done before. In 1975, Senator Frank Church had public hearings of the Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – By now, I’m sure you’ve heard about the latest round of whistle-blowers to testify before Congress. The latest testimony reminds me of Albert Einstein’s definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different outcome. How many whistle-blowers have testified before Congress to nothing more than political grandstanding? How many have blown the whistle…
