The Constitution Study
Weekdays 4 PM ET
The American people, through ignorance and apathy, have lost their love for their rights and liberties. Our rights are trampled daily by governments, universities, the media, and businesses both large and small. Yet the vast majority of Americans not only bow to the pressure to relinquish their rights, they frequently ask for them to be taken. What are we to do?
Since 2014 Paul Engel has been helping everyday Americans read and study the Constitution of their country and teaching the rising generation to be free. In this program, Paul uses news and current events as a springboard to help explain the Constitution and encourage others to stand up for their rights, their children’s rights, and those of the nation.
The goal of this program is to help everyday people defend their rights by reading, studying, and understanding the supreme law of the land, the Constitution of the United States of America. Author and speaker, Paul Engel has spent more than 20 years studying and teaching about both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. That experience helps Paul explain difficult concepts in a way most people can understand. As one manager described, “Paul can take the most complex idea and explain it in a way my grandmother can understand.”
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution states that “The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.” We’re all probably familiar with how the courts work today, but how many of you have considered what this judicial power actually is? Patriots of talk about the deep…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – What is truth? That’s basically the same question as what is misinformation. I remember a time when truth and lies were determined by facts. If you could provide facts that prove what you were saying is true, then most people would believe you. Today, however, when the truth contradicts the narrative, it gets labeled misinformation so people can ignore it. But if the truth is…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – The United States of America was designed with a bottom-up power structure. The Constitutions of most of our states say that all power is inherent in the people and that they delegate some of their power to the states. The Constitution of the United States not only created what we now call the federal government, but the Tenth Amendment confirms that the powers delegated…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – While most people are familiar with the Bond movies, the franchise started 70 years ago when Ian Fleming wrote the book Casino Royale and introduced the world to 007. As a young man, I was very interested in these types of spy thriller books and movies. Some of my favorite series are James Bond, Jack Ryan, and Jason Bourne. This was brought to mind after reading an article…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – You’d be wrong if you thought the silly season around recent Supreme Court decisions was over. The fact that people disagree with the court’s opinions should surprise no one. However, in today’s narcissistic and childish political environment, simply disagreeing and criticizing is not enough. And if you think providing facts and data will calm the masses, I have a bridge to sell…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Each year, the Supreme Court term ends with the month of June. That is when the court usually releases its most important and controversial opinions. It’s also when the court releases the largest number of opinions in the shortest amount of time. You can’t have this vast number of Supreme Court opinions released without dozens of “experts” and pundits often spouting crazy ideas…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Happy Independence Day! While the entire world has a Fourth of July, only in America is this Independence Day. While most Americas will celebrate our independence today, I think very few will consider how dependent they have become. Consider this line from the Declaration of Independence: “[A]ccordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Do you ever look around and wonder why things are the way they are? Is it just random chance, or is there a design behind the chaos in our world? I think the answer is yes. There is a design that the turmoil we are experiencing is being engineered to deliver us to someone else’s desired outcome. To discuss this topic, I have Dr. Marlene McMillian joining me to discuss her article…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – How can you tell when a politician is lying? The answer, generally, is, “Their lips are moving!” I have used this joke as an example, not of the corruption of the political class but of the American citizen who continues to hire liars, cheats, and thieves to represent them. But what happens when we become so conditioned to lies that we not only accept them but reject the truth? In her book…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – There are two main senses for the definition of the word “Institutionalized” in this context: “established as a common and accepted part of a system or culture” and “created and controlled by an established organization.” Government institutions were created as a part of our culture to do what we agreed was best done collectively. These institutions that are supposed…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Words matter. That is why I keep referring back to dictionaries and other documents to show what the words I’m using mean. It’s also why I refuse to submit to the false language that has become so much a part of Western society. Then I came across an article by Dr. Marlene McMillan, who put a name to what I’ve been seeing, “Social Engineering.” The manipulation…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Caveat emptor or buyer beware. These words are just as true for the news and media we consume as any product you may buy. This makes me wonder why so many Americans seem willing to listen to just about anyone who calls themselves an expert without checking their facts. I may be dating myself, but I remember family members reading through Consumer…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – When he was running for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, John Edwards repeatedly stated that there were two Americas, one for the rich and another for the poor. While there may be a kernel of truth to that statement, at its core, it was another hyperbolic class warfare trope designed to curry favor and votes. Today, it is quite obvious…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Have you ever disagreed with someone and questioned what was between their ears? I see it all the time, especially in the questions and comments I get from the radio show and my articles. I don’t mean people I simply disagree with, but where it seems basic logic and reason do not enter their consideration. Recently, someone pointed me to an excerpt of a letter from Friedrich…
