The Constitution Study
Weekdays 4 PM ET
The American people, through ignorance and apathy, have lost their love for their rights and liberties. Our rights are trampled daily by governments, universities, the media, and businesses both large and small. Yet the vast majority of Americans not only bow to the pressure to relinquish their rights, they frequently ask for them to be taken. What are we to do?
Since 2014 Paul Engel has been helping everyday Americans read and study the Constitution of their country and teaching the rising generation to be free. In this program, Paul uses news and current events as a springboard to help explain the Constitution and encourage others to stand up for their rights, their children’s rights, and those of the nation.
The goal of this program is to help everyday people defend their rights by reading, studying, and understanding the supreme law of the land, the Constitution of the United States of America. Author and speaker, Paul Engel has spent more than 20 years studying and teaching about both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. That experience helps Paul explain difficult concepts in a way most people can understand. As one manager described, “Paul can take the most complex idea and explain it in a way my grandmother can understand.”
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – I’ve said before that probably the most important question to ask is why? Which is why it’s also one of the hardest questions to answer. So when I see some of what’s been on the news lately, the first question I ask myself is, “Why?” Take, for example, the recent acts by Anheuser-Busch, Target, and the LA Dodgers. Why would corporations be willing to lose millions…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – America is a very litigious society. This is born out by looking at the numbers. According to the American Bar Association, there are more than 1.3 million lawyers in the United States, while the Association of American Medical Colleges states approximately 940,000 total active physicians. While that number may not be shocking, you may be surprised…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – George Washington’s warning is once again being proven true. From the debt ceiling agreement to the impeachment of Ken Paxton, we can see our thirst for political revenge is as insatiable as ever. What does that mean for America’s future? As I frequently say, when it comes to political parties…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – “Give them an inch, and they’ll take a mile.” If there is one idiom to describe our Founding Father’s understanding of the need for a limited government, that has to be it. Over my lifetime, I’ve watched as government actors, at all levels, have taken mile after mile of our rights and liberties. Most of these illegal powers are vested not in elected…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – In the Preamble of the Constitution, we find the reason for that document and the purposes behind its drafting. One of those reasons was to “Establish Justice.” Not Social Justice or Economic Justice, but just plain justice, which, according to Noah Webster and his 1828 dictionary, is “The virtue which consists in giving to everyone what is his…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Once a year, America sets aside a day to preserve the memory of those who have given their last measure of devotion to this country. This day of memory is relegated by many to a simple holiday, a day off work, and a chance for a cookout. For others, it is a time for parades and decorating cemeteries. Regardless of how you treat this day, it is a day…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Noah Webster defined a “republic” in his dictionary as: “A commonwealth; a state in which the exercise of the sovereign power is lodged in representatives elected by the people. In modern usage, it differs from a democracy or democratic state, in which the people exercise the powers of sovereignty in person.” In order for a nation to be a republic…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Why are the progressives so obsessed with separating children from their parents? Hillary Clinton thinks you can’t raise your children and that “It takes a village to raise a child.” Personally, I like the retort I heard from Thomas Sowell. “It takes a village idiot to believe that!” Why do those who promote the public education system work…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – How many of you remember Superman’s motto? I grew up with that call, that ideal, that not only this fictional superhero but every American should fight for Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Yet today, it seems so many people aren’t fighting for these ideals but against them. Even DC Comics dropped the phrase “The American Way” for…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – As I travel the country speaking to people about the Constitution, one question I’m frequently asked is, “Would I run for Congress?” I have a couple of reasons why I don’t. One is I don’t lie, and we all know that lying is a required skill for members of Congress. The other is a little more nuanced. Since I would uphold my oath to support the…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – There are plenty of disagreements about what policy is best, but does anyone bother to see if those policies actually work? Want a scarier thought? What if these policies actually ARE working? Albert Einstein said that doing the same thing over and over against expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity. But what if those…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – With the release of the Durham Report, we have yet another example of the corruption that seems to be so evident in Washington, D.C. We should ask ourselves, is government corrupt by nature, or is it something else? While I’m sure, many of you may answer that question with a hearty “YES!” I think a closer look will show…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Years ago, I taught Sunday School, and for several of those years, I was teaching high-school-level teenagers. Every year I pointed out to my students that the most difficult question I would ask all year was, “Why?” What makes that the most difficult question for a group of Sunday School students? Because many of them…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – I’m beginning to think all government programs should come with a warning label, just like the ones on cigarettes. You may think I’m being hyperbolic, but look at how many programs that were created to help us are now used to harm We the People. As Ronald Reagan said, “[A] government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life…
