The Constitution Study
Weekdays 4 PM ET
The American people, through ignorance and apathy, have lost their love for their rights and liberties. Our rights are trampled daily by governments, universities, the media, and businesses both large and small. Yet the vast majority of Americans not only bow to the pressure to relinquish their rights, they frequently ask for them to be taken. What are we to do?
Since 2014 Paul Engel has been helping everyday Americans read and study the Constitution of their country and teaching the rising generation to be free. In this program, Paul uses news and current events as a springboard to help explain the Constitution and encourage others to stand up for their rights, their children’s rights, and those of the nation.
The goal of this program is to help everyday people defend their rights by reading, studying, and understanding the supreme law of the land, the Constitution of the United States of America. Author and speaker, Paul Engel has spent more than 20 years studying and teaching about both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. That experience helps Paul explain difficult concepts in a way most people can understand. As one manager described, “Paul can take the most complex idea and explain it in a way my grandmother can understand.”
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Does anyone else remember the Dire Straits song “Money for Nothing”? I think of that song just about every time I hear some people talk about the national debt and the debt ceiling and claim that we just need to raise the ceiling without worrying about spending. There are plenty of people who want to ignore the impact of our…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – I was listening to a comedian the other day. She was talking to a group of millennials and pointed out that she could take out the entire generation with a jar of peanuts. After I stopped laughing, I started thinking, that doesn’t seem to be as outrageous as you might think. Thinking back, very few children seemed to have peanut allergies…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – My maternal grandfather was from Italy. In fact, his younger brother was born on the boat as they came to America. He was convinced, to his dying day, that the Mafia was not Italian. Similarly, there are those today who cannot fathom the idea that many of our governments today act more like an organized crime family than the representatives…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I’m old enough to remember the Soviet Union and the Marxist nations it held under its sway. I remember the wall separating East and West Germany, the secret police of the various Eastern Bloc nations, and the violent suppression…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – As a fan of the Science Fiction genre for decades, I’ve read several books and seen several movies where the protagonist ends up in a parallel universe or another timeline where things look the same but are completely different. That’s exactly how I feel when I look at America today, the buildings look the same, but…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – While the media, politicians, and celebrities seem to always point our focus toward what is going wrong, there are examples of things going right. From people standing up for the truth and the preservation of their rights, to the occasional elected employee getting to the root of an issue rather than just making…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – There are plenty of people out there who think America’s best days are behind her. Some believe we will fall to second or even third-world status, while others think we will effectively be taken over by another country or the United Nations. I try not to focus on the doom and gloom, I much prefer focusing on what…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Most of us have had a parent ask us, “If your friends jumped off a cliff, would you follow them?” There are studies showing the power of peer pressure, and I’m sure all of us know of someone who “Fell in with a bad crowd.” Does this tendency to be swayed by bad ideas only exist in childhood, or is it something…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Public schools had an honorable start in the republic. First, people taught their children at home. Then communities would get together, build a schoolhouse and hire a teacher. Then it was agreed that it was a public responsibility to ensure every child had a basic education, the chance to learn to read, write, do…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – There have been a lot of really big news items we’ve talked about here at The Constitution Study lately, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other things we should be aware of. So this time, I want to take a whirlwind tour across the country and discuss those stories that haven’t gotten…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – There are plenty of examples of those in government rewriting the rules and only a few of those trying to stop them. They have become so common some people have started calling these attempts war. War on freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and even the Constitution itself. In this battle, for who creates the rules and who follows them, which side…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – While many people say, “What you don’t know can’t hurt you.” I contend that what you know that just ain’t so is what really bites you in the butt. I know there are English majors across the county yelling at me right now, but let’s put aside the bad grammar for a moment and consider if the sentiment is…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Terrorism isn’t merely acts of destruction, but the use of terror, intense and overwhelming fear, as a means of coercion. Take a look around, and you’ll get a sense of just how often fear is used to coerce people into behaving a certain way and then thinking a certain way. If intense fear is being used to coerce…
The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Did you have a bully in school? I had a couple of low-level ones. Nothing too serious, but when I grew up, I realized that all bullies seem to follow the same playbook. They pick out someone they think they can intimidate, isolate them, and metaphorically work them over as long as…
