The Dean’s List
Weekdays 2 pm ET
On October 4, 1790, Samuel Adams sat down to write a letter to his cousin, John Adams, who was vice president of the United States. Samuel Adams stated: “Let patriots unite their endeavors to renovate the age, by . . . educating their sons and daughters in the fear of the Lord . . . love of their country and . . . the art of self-government.”
The word renovate means “To renew; to restore to the first state, or a good state, after decay, destruction or depravation.” It may seem surprising to us that Adams expressed the need to renovate the age, being as it was, such an early time in our nation’s existence. Is it possible he felt the teachings of the Fear of the Lord, Love of Country, and the Art of Self-Government were entering a state of decay?
Ronald Reagan stated, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” Could it be that EVERY generation needs to Renovate the Age? The Dean’s List is a show resolved to Renovate the Age by shining the light of truth on the decaying American education system while also shining the light of hope for parents and grandparents who will endeavor to reclaim ownership of their children’s and grandchildren’s education.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – President Abraham Lincoln delivers The Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863, dedicating a military cemetery during the Civil War. In under three minutes, his words profoundly capture the nation’s ideals and enduring challenges. Despite his doubts about its impact, Lincoln’s speech remains a timeless tribute to unity, sacrifice, and the pursuit of a more perfect union.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Susan B. Anthony’s fight for justice parallels Donald Trump’s journey, as both face unjust trials and persist through societal challenges. From suffrage to modern elections, their shared commitment to core values inspires others. With leaders like Ryan Walters advancing bold educational initiatives, we see the enduring power of persistence driven by principles that uphold America’s greatness.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – A California teacher’s hateful rant against Latino Trump voters sparks outrage, calling them “wannabe whites.” Parents demand accountability from the school board, accusing it of tolerating hate speech. The teacher’s actions highlight deeper cultural and political tensions. This incident underscores the urgent need to address ideological bias within the education system and protect family values.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Brooks is using Beyonce as the subject matter for her course because “Beyoncé has also tried to tell a story through her music about race and gender and sexuality in the context of the 400-year-plus history of African-American subjugation.” Based upon that statement alone, this course will be taught from the Marxist perspective that America is racist – always has been and…
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Trump announced his plans to remove the Marxist shadow hanging over American education including abolishing the Department of Education and changing the standards of college accreditation. Trump stated he will push the DOJ to pursue federal civil rights cases against schools that persist in using racial discrimination under the guise of equity…
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – The current state of the American character is under attack, shaped by distorted political ideologies and false teachings. Reflecting on the true essence of America, I call for a return to the principles that once made our nation great.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – As public schools continue to fail, Classical Education is experiencing a revival in America. But many parents don’t have a full understanding of what it is. Dr. David Stanton describes the purpose of a such an education and why parents are drawn to it now more than ever.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – The educational landscape in America is about to change under a second Trump term. Trump has committed to abolishing the Department of Education. He’s also given his support to the idea of allowing families to use their own tax money for educating their students. American education will look very different in four years. I hope we can say the same in twenty-four years…
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – In this show, I ask the question, now that the election is over, is it morning again in America, or are we mourning again in America? I’m sure some are mourning the defeat of their candidate while others see the bright rays of the morning sun beaming across the American landscape. Many are looking to the hope of a brighter future on the horizon. We reveled in joy in that conversation…
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – The Harvard Memorial Church hosts a unique event where attendees explore Taylor Swift’s lyrics as sacred texts, raising questions about spirituality and modern culture. As a Christian, I’m skeptical of viewing pop lyrics in this light. Should a historic church embrace this approach, or is it a disregard for traditional sacred texts and spiritual heritage?
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Dale Cadle, a third-generation Teamster car hauler, stands firmly with Trump, rallying fellow union members to back his campaign. Amid shifting union endorsements, Cadle voices support for Trump’s America First policies, highlighting promises to restore jobs, impose tariffs, and oppose mandates that harm workers. For Cadle and many Teamsters, Trump remains the clear choice.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – Election Day in America begins in 1848, uniting voters on a single day to prevent state-by-state influence. Rooted in Judeo-Christian values, the tradition reflects our Founding Fathers’ vision of a moral society. Today, voting remains essential as we seek leaders who respect these guiding principles, understanding that a strong foundation in morality secures a brighter future.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – As November unfolds, I notice many embracing daily gratitude, which has proven benefits. Gratitude not only reduces stress, anger, and depression but also boosts social support and well-being. Teaching students gratitude practices, like journaling, is essential for mental health. Research shows gratitude even lowers inflammation, underscoring the value of virtues in education and life.
The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – The Trump campaign’s ad strikes a chord, contrasting Kamala Harris’s stance on taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries for incarcerated illegal aliens with Trump’s promise to focus on Americans. Kamala responds with denial, accusing Trump of “disinformation.” Today, we dive into gaslighting, equity hiring, and the left’s push to transition students without parental awareness.
